Fixing Scratches

Explore our step-by-step guide to effectively fix scratches and restore the original beauty of your solid wood furniture.

Scratches may occur, but they are easily fixed.

1. Sand the Scratched Area: Start by sanding the scratch with coarse sandpaper, always following the wood grain. Then, use finer sandpaper to smooth the area until the scratch is no longer visible. Be sure to remove all dust before moving on to the next step.

2. Apply Oil: Pour a small amount of the same type of oil originally applied to the wooden surface onto a cotton cloth. For clean hands and to prevent them from getting sticky, we suggest wearing rubber gloves.

3. Rub in the Oil: Gently rub the oil into the wood along the grain. Allow the oil to set for 3-5 minutes (no longer, as it might become sticky). Remove any excess oil with a clean cotton cloth, again following the grain.

4. Allow to Cure: Let the treated area cure by leaving it to dry for 24 hours. This ensures the oil sets properly on the treated area.
